Strategic Advisor at City of Seattle Parks & Recreation

Rachel is a Strategic Advisor in Planning at the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation where she manages the Park CommUNITY Fund, a community-initiated projects fund, facilitates Proview, a department-wide planning oversight process, and manages various park planning projects.

Previously she was the Director of Park Access at the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) where she oversaw the organization’s strategy to ensure fair and just access to high-quality parks and recreation that create healthy, resilient, and economically vibrant communities. In her prior experiences, she developed partnerships, conducted community outreach, researched, and developed strategies that advanced health equity at the individual, community, and systems levels.

Rachel received her Master’s in Public Health from Tufts University and her BS in Exercise Science from Elon University, both focused on health equity, chronic disease prevention, and the built environment.
