Lisa Hernandez is a native Houstonian and Senior Outreach Manager for the Houston Parks Board (HPB). Since joining HPB in 2015, Lisa has worked with neighborhoods all over the Houston and Harris County region to co-create and co-lead community meetings and events as part of major park and trail initiatives. Between 2015 and 2022, HPB’s Outreach team reached 40,000+ people through more than 900 community and stakeholder meetings, owned events, elected official briefings, and other outreach activities.
Prior to her work with HPB, Lisa’s experience leading outreach and public hearings on critical environmental issues, such as environmental justice and emergency management, for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania prepared her to work in communities with an equitable, accessible process. Lisa’s 15 years of comprehensive experience in outreach brings valuable insight into effective, equity-driven community outreach programs tailored to reach, support, and uplift diverse communities.
