Many people, especially young people, feel increasingly disconnected from nature. This disconnect is particularly prominent in underresourced, environmental justice communities with limited access to green, open spaces. This reality has led to a significant utilization gap for local parks and public lands.
In this Peer Conversation, discussion leaders will share innovative programs designed to build a sense of belonging in parks among youth and to cultivate park engagement and leadership. Participants will discuss lessons learned, strategies for success, and how to create deeper, more sustainable connections to green spaces.
