Equitable Development Manager at 11th Street Bridge Park

Kia Johnson is an accomplished Equitable Development Manager with a strong belief that equity should be the driving force behind development within inner cities. In her role, she is dedicated to implementing and overseeing the Equitable Development Plan while managing crucial partnerships and programs within Ward 8. Her primary objective is to ensure that all residents have equal access to the necessary tools and resources for a truly equitable life in their community.

One of Ms. Johnson’s notable initiatives is the Five-City Workforce Pilot, an innovative program led by the 11th Street Bridge Park. This groundbreaking initiative aims to ensure that infrastructure reuse projects in five cities, including Washington, D.C., Buffalo, NY, Grand Rapids, MI, San Francisco, CA, and Dallas, TX, benefit the surrounding communities. Through the pilot program, Ms. Johnson focuses on promoting workforce development opportunities for local residents and addressing historical inequities.
