Julie Lehman

Horticulture and Open Space Manager at City of Denver

Julie manages the Greenhouse and Open Space program for the City of Denver. She has a passion for promoting native plant material through her work. She focuses on creating landscapes that are resilient, water-wise, and biodiverse while being attractive to the public.

Julie is an innovator in changing the status quo for maintenance practices in the built environment. Julie has developed the City Park Greenhouse as a horticultural hub for both internal staff and external partners such as Colorado State University, The Denver Zoo and Denver Botanic Gardens and is committed to using this venue to promote continuing education. Julie received her degree in Floriculture and Spanish at Colorado State University.

Prior to public sector work she grew plants for a large-scale local operation and spent 14 years in the landscape design/install and maintenance field. When not at work Julie is an avid reader, loves backpacking, coaching rugby, and spending time with her family.
