Daniel Fusca

Manager of Public Consultation at City of Toronto Parks, Forestry, and Recreation Division

Daniel is a recognized leader and innovator in municipal civic engagement, process design and policy development. For 5 years, he served as the Stakeholder Engagement Lead for Toronto’s City Planning Division, where he worked to improve the Division’s overall approach to public engagement and bring new equity-deserving communities into the planning process. In September 2019, Daniel became the first Manager of Public Consultation for Toronto’s Parks, Forestry, and Recreation Division, supporting the capital projects branch. He and his team have been working to build an engagement practice from the ground up, ensuring that Toronto’s diverse communities are engaged in the development of Toronto’s parks and rec capital program. Daniel has spoken at conferences in Europe and North America and teaches a course on civic engagement at the University of Toronto. He is currently also a member of the Democracy Next International Task Force on Democratising City Planning.
