Walk & Talk: Denny Park and Amazon Spheres

Networking Event

Join a City Parks Alliance Board Member and fellow attendees on an informal walk to a local park. While this is not a guided tour of a specific park, it’s an opportunity to connect and learn more about City Parks Alliance, meet Alliance Board Members, and network with other Greater & Greener participants while getting some fresh air and seeing the local parks.

Zoom back and forth in Seattle’s history as we visit Denny Park, the first public park within the city limits of Seattle and the current headquarters for its parks and recreation office. Hear about the park’s history as a cemetery and as part of the initial Olmsted plan for Seattle. We will pass the Amazon Spheres and catch glimpses of the Space Needle along the way. Grab-and-go lunch options are available at the Amazon Go store or any of the many fast, casual eateries along the way. The total distance for this walk is about 2.5 miles or about 20 minutes each way.

Please note: This is a rain-or-shine event unless there is inclement weather. Bring your reusable water bottle, sunscreen, and money if you wish to pick up lunch.
