Many park departments and their city-wide non-profit partners are improving and activating parks through small grant programs for neighborhood parks groups. A core purpose of this is to build the capacity of neighborhood parks groups to engage in planning, programming, and stewardship of their local parks. Small grant programs enable park leaders to experiment with pilot projects and new ideas in public spaces.
This session is an opportunity to hear the lessons learned on how to maximize the impact and sustainability of small grant programs from city and nonprofit leaders who have run successful programs for multiple years.
