AsGreater & Greener 2019 comes to a close, it's time to wind down with friends old and new at Civic Center Park. Located at the crossroads of government, culture, commerce, and community, this historic 12-acre oasis is bordered by the State Capitol, the City and County Building, the Denver Art Museum, and it is the centerpiece of Denver's green space. 2019 also marks the 100th anniversary of the park's Greek Amphitheatre, a public stage that can accommodate up to 1,200 spectators!
While enjoying the closing reception, please tour a very special art exhibit on the 2nd floor of the McNichols Civic Center Building offered in cooperation with the La Napoule Art Foundation Visiting Artist Program. The program is an arts education initiative that connects dynamic, professional artists with Denver schools. We are honored to feature the works of 50 third- and fifth-grade students from the Ashely School, each creating their own personal landscapes connecting place to their personal narrative. The exhibit also features a painting from this year’s Visiting Artist, Arturo Garcia.
Transportation to this event will depart from the Ellie Caulkins Opera House beginning at 5:50 PM. The park is also walking distance from the Ellie. Return transportation departs Civic Center starting at 7 PM until 8:30 PM, dropping off at both the Ellie and Hilton hotel. Dress code: Casual.
