Offered in cooperation with the Institute for Urban Parks | Central Park Conservancy
THIS SESSION IS AT CAPACITY.
Urban parks are busy places, and in any single day, week, month, or even year, urban park managers often find themselves with more maintenance tasks than they can reasonably complete. To keep parks safe, clean, and attractive for visitors, skillful managers must learn to triage their work.
By the end of this interactive workshop, participants will have: 1) Drafted a working vision for the future of their parks from a maintenance perspective; 2) Derived a list of short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance projects from their vision; 3) Developed a rubric for prioritizing maintenance projects; 4) Reviewed a list of essential park maintenance tools; and 5) Crafted a short-list of park maintenance projects to begin tackling on Monday morning.
