Minneapolis and Saint Paul: A River That Connects

Once a tall grass prairie landscape with few trees, marshy lakes and 20 miles of Mississippi River in between, today Minneapolis and Saint Paul are regarded as two of America’s great "green" cities with tree-lined parkways, public-owned lake shores, and vibrant neighborhood parks. The Twin Cities have two of the oldest, largest, and most recognized park and recreation systems in the nation, featuring more than 350 parks and open spaces, totaling approximately 11,000 acres, with more than 150 different facilities including recreation centers, golf courses, a zoo and conservatory, bicycle trails, and riverfront facilities on the Mississippi River. We hope to see you in 2017!
