Schoolyard Greening

School districts and cities across the country are starting to develop their schoolyards as places for outdoor learning, physical activity, and play during the school day and used by the community as a park during out of school time. School districts and city governments like those in New York and Chicago are working together to equitably transform their schoolyards into green schoolyards, sharing land, funding, and use to meet their communities' needs. Learn about green schoolyard basics and how these partners are meeting their priorities by reaping the multiple benefits of green schoolyards.
