Professional Development Credits

City Parks Alliance is pleased to offer continuing education credits for Greater & Greener attendees. Additional details will be available when the full conference schedule is published in early 2026.

Continuing Education is available in the following categories.

General Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

City Parks Alliance offers general continuing education units (CEUs) for most conference educational programming, including panel sessions, and skill-building and mobile workshops.

Who can use these credits:

Members of professional organizations that allow self-reported credits from third-party providers

Professionals with development goals requiring documented attendance records

We provide CEUs as a courtesy to help attendees meet their professional development requirements.

Attendees seeking CEUs must:

Indicate their intention to earn CEUs during the conference registration process

Ensure that their name badge is scanned as they enter and exit a session, which enables us to verify that participants attended each session for the entire duration.

Request CEUs from the Alliance after the conference

Upon request after the conference, City Parks Alliance will generate a transcript that lists the sessions participants attended for the entire duration and the number of CEUs earned per session (0.1 CEU = 1 hour). Participants may choose to submit this form to any organizations with whom they maintain certifications that require CEUs in this format. Transcript requests will be fulfilled within 10 business days.

Important Note for Landscape Architects

In the past, City Parks Alliance was an approved provider by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for its Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES) professional development hours (PDH). The Alliance no longer directly issues PDHs for LA CES. However, attendees can request a CEU transcript and try self-reporting it to ASLA.

Certification Maintenance (CMs) for urban planners

City Parks Alliance is a Certification Maintenance (CM) program provider approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners/American Planning Association (AICP/APA) to provide continuing education activities and events for CM credits.

Planners seeking credit must:

Indicate their intention to earn CMs during the conference registration process

Ensure their name badge is scanned as they enter and exit a session. You must stay for the entire session.

Planners must claim CM credits via the AICP website’s CM Log.

Important Reminder: You’re Responsible for Managing Your Own Certification Process

Upon check-in at the Conference Registration area, verify with staff that you are seeking credits to ensure you are indicated as such in our system and that you receive the appropriate materials where necessary.
