The season may be getting colder outside, but at City Parks Alliance, we’re already dreaming about summer as we plan for Greater & Greener in Philadelphia, June 18-21, 2022.
We were thrilled to have received more than 230 compelling submissions for speaker presentations geared to one of four conference tracks: Co-Creating Civic Life, Equitable Economic and Community Development, Resilient Cities, and Safe, Healthy, Inclusive Communities. Our review teams, comprising a cross-section of national experts, are right this minute reviewing each proposal against our evaluation criteria. We can hardly wait for January to reveal the final slate of session topics, presenters, interactive workshops, and site visits.
Philadelphia is a model for how urban investment in neighborhood parks, libraries, and recreation centers can result in increased community engagement and empowerment, diversity and economic inclusion, and urban resilience. From its green stormwater project to its Rebuilding Community Infrastructure (Rebuild), Philadelphia’s partnership between the city and the philanthropic sector has resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars invested into transformative projects in 140 neighborhoods across the city—and at Greater & Greener you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the implementation, visiting projects, and hearing from local leaders about the impact, with ideas you can implement back home.
