Born in Middlefield, Connecticut and brought up on a small farm, Brooke cultivated a love of the outdoors at a young age. She spent her days playing in the woods, by the ocean, and in the garden with her mom and grandma. After graduating Clark University in Worcester, MA in 2011, Brooke moved to San Payang, Thailand to live and work at the Sangob Permaculture Center where she participated in their Thai Food Forest project. From there, she lived in Hanoi, Vietnam teaching English to students ranging from pre-k through high school.
In an effort to combine her education experience with her love of nature and the outdoors, Brooke moved back to Connecticut in 2015 to work at Solar Youth, Inc. Here Brooke started as a program educator and eventually took on the position of program coordinator, planning and implementing programs for young people in New Haven to connect to the outdoors and their community. Seeking to continue to work with youth and advance her wilderness skills, Brooke moved to Denver in 2017, and joined the cityWILD team as Adventures Coordinator in 2018.
Brooke currently holds a Wilderness First Aid certification and has led adventures such as hiking, camping, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, skiing snowshoeing and more!
