Dave Hutch is a landscape architect and the director of planning and park development for the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation. Dave has 25+ years of public sector experience connecting with people, health, ecology, and place within a diversity of public agencies responsible for urban design, park and recreation planning, and design, active transportation, and urban ecosystems. At the Vancouver Park Board, Dave oversees a team of landscape architects, planners, urban designers, biologists and engagement specialists who plan for the renewal, resiliency, and growth of Vancouver’s parks, recreation, and natural area systems. This includes 230 parks, 24 community centers, pools, and beaches including Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre peninsula of rainforest connected to downtown Vancouver.
