Maria Durana

SF Children & Nature Coordinator, San Francisco Recreation & Parks
San Francisco Children & Nature/SF Rec & Parks

Maria Durana is the San Francisco Children & Nature Collaborative’s coordinator. Working through the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department and within a cross-sector collaborative of over 20 government agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations, Maria works to advance the mission of equitably improving access to nature for youth in San Francisco. Maria began her career in architecture but quickly discovered a passion for parks, community development, and the power of collective impact. This led to positions with KaBOOM! leading community-built playground projects and at the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy managing the largest volunteer program within the national parks.
