Emily is an environmental protection specialist with the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) where she works to reduce the impacts of stormwater runoff on the district's watersheds. During her tenure at DOEE, Emily developed the inspection and enforcement program for the district’s 5 cent Bag Law and Coal Tar Ban. She helped create the district’s Stormwater Fee Discount Program and initiated the Community Stormwater Solutions grant program. Emily has also worked on workforce development and environmental education programs. Emily has a bachelor's degree in environmental studies from Temple University and a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University.
