Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan
Tom Woiwode developed the GreenWays Initiative for the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, along with developing and directing programs on land use, urban revitalization, green infrastructure, and community development. Previously, he was the founding director of The Nature Conservancy of Michigan and an officer of the international Nature Conservancy. Woiwode has raised over $200 million in private funds and leveraged more than half a billion dollars for conservation and community development, and, while with TNC, completed more than 300 conservation real estate transactions, including the largest acquisition for conservation purposes by a private organization in the state's history. An attorney, Woiwode has been the founder, board member, and officer of environmental, conservation, and charitable organizations in Michigan and throughout the country.
