Director of Gender Equity Affairs

Francisca Castillo is the director of gender equity affairs with the city of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. Francisca ensures that L.A. City Recreation and Parks adheres to the department’s policies and practices on gender equity. Francisca is responsible for the department’s special events, programs, staff, and training related to girls’ physical activities and sports leagues. She is directly responsible for the Girls Play Los Angeles (GPLA) program, which is located at 100 recreation centers. Francisca is also an adjunct professor in the recreation department at California State University - Northridge. Francisca holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in recreation administration.
