Ruffian Tittmann

Executive Director at Friends of the Wissahickon

Ruffian Tittmann joined Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) in 2006 as development director, a position she held until 2020 when she became executive director. During her tenure, FOW has grown from an organization with a yearly revenue of under $500,000 in 2005, to nearly $2 million with nearly 2 million annual park visits.

Under Ruffian’s leadership FOW has undertaken several capital projects, the highest profile of which is the restoration of the Lower Valley Green
Run and pedestrian bridge, a new architectural feature in the Wissahickon Valley Park and cornerstone of future fundraising as FOW looks toward its 100th year in 2024.

Ruffian’s professional experience includes development roles at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Wadsworth Atheneum, and Mystic Seaport.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Drew University and currently serves on the Executive Committee of Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Sierra Club.
