Rachel Alexander

Rachel Dowley Alexander serves as Urban Planner/Designer at the Longwood Collective and acts as program manager for Outside//, the Longwood Medical and Academic Area’s summer placemaking initiative.

Rachel works with private partners and community-based vendors to create convivial spaces and uses her background in urban ethnography to anticipate the needs of users and respond to subversive uses of space. She also uses GIS and graphics tools to tell compelling stories of planning.

Rachel holds a Master of Environmental Planning and Policy from Tufts University, is a recipient of the APA Massachusetts Student Project of the Year Award, and has presented at conferences including ASLA 2023.
