Dr. Ian Mell is a Reader in Environmental & Landscape Planning in the Department of Planning & Environmental Management. Ian’s teaching and research focus on Green Infrastructure Planning issues in the UK and internationally. His work addresses issues of funding, policy, delivery, and equity and aims to identify opportunities to develop high-quality and multi-functional places for all.
Ian’s career includes local government, contract research, and academic work providing scope to align experiences from the public, private and environmental sectors. He is the author of Global Green Infrastructure (Routledge, 2016), and has published academic papers focussed on green space, parks, and Green Infrastructure planning in the UK, China, India, and Europe.
