Erika Hood was born and raised on Cleveland’s southeast side and is a graduate of Cleveland State University. Growing up, she had the opportunity to participate in many extracurricular activities and sports. Her parents also took the family on vacation throughout the years and explored the routes along the way for interesting and informative landmarks, often including the National Parks on the “Thing to See” lists.
As a co-founder of SYATT, she is able to transform the lives of youth in Cleveland. By creating opportunities to expose youth and adults to challenging and engaging activities, she is helping them to expand their minds, increase their potential, and break barriers. Erika works as a researcher at the Center for Reducing Health Disparities and has a passion for creating awareness and dissemination platforms that are culturally tailored and impactful.
