Deborah Cohen is a Research Scientist at Kaiser Permanente, Southern CA, and a physician with board certification in Public Health and Preventive Medicine. She has served as the Principal Investigator on multiple NIH-funded studies, many of which focus on park use and physical activity. These studies have examined how parks are used, whether park use improves after renovation (not always), and socio-demographic disparities in park use. She is also the author of “A Big Fat Crisis: the hidden forces behind the obesity epidemic and how we can end it.”
