Brigitte Griswold

Executive Director at Groundwork Hudson Valley

As executive director, Brigitte leads the organization’s mission to promote sustainable and equitable environmental change in locally disinvested neighborhoods.

She was the Nature conservancy’s director of youth engagement previously overseeing all education, volunteer, and employment programs. She was a 2009 national fellow of “Green for All,” which is dedicated to an inclusive green economy, and a 2010 Fellow of the Center for Whole Communities, to strengthen people, land, and community connections. Her work has been recognized by EPA, The National Park Service, Westchester County, and The City of Yonkers.

She has received notable awards from The Conservation Fund, The Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund, The Edison Award Honoring Innovation and Innovators, The US2020 STEM Mentoring Award for Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships, and The Nature Conservancy’s Conservation Achievement Award. She holds a B.A. in Literature and Communications from the University of South Carolina.
