AeLin Compton is Environmental Restoration Crew Chief with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. She helps manage staff, contractors, and volunteers in the care of the City’s 5400 acres of public natural lands. Her work centers on preserving the long-term health and viability of Philadelphia’s forests, wetlands, meadows, and riparian buffers through managing invasive species, and mitigating the impacts of deer pressure, tree diseases, and changing hydrology on public lands. An avid botanist, AeLin is passionate about opportunities to connect Philadelphians to their local plants and ecology. She brings 10 years’ experience in natural lands management, is an ISA Certified Arborist, PA Pesticide Applicator, and holds a BS in Ecology and Natural Resources from Rutgers University.
