Adam Arvidson

Director of Strategic Planning at Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board

Adam Regn Arvidson, PLA, FASLA, is a landscape architect and writer who currently serves as the Director of Strategic Planning for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. Across a career spanning 22 years, Adam has published two books and more than 100 articles and essays on design, planning, and the environment and has won multiple design awards. His most recent book, Wild and Rare: Tracking Endangered Species in the Upper Midwest, was praised by Bill McKibben as “faithfully…bearing witness to that which lives alongside us.” Adam is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and recipient of the Bradford Williams Medal for excellence in landscape architectural writing. At Minneapolis Parks, Adam leads the team responsible for all long-range park and capital planning, sits on the organization’s racial equity guidance team, and manages the newly formed Data Insights Team.
