The Mighty Central Delaware: A Scenic Boat Tour

Weekend Tour

Once a series of dilapidated piers and underutilized public spaces, Philadelphia’s Delaware River waterfront has undergone a number of transformative developments in the 21st century on its way to becoming one of the most exciting spots in the city for residents and visitors. On this unique boat tour, hear from the experts at the Delaware Riverfront Water Corporation (DRWC), a nonprofit dedicated to transforming the waterfront, about the work that they are doing to expand and improve access to the Delaware River through the creation of public parks and trails.

Starting at Penn’s Landing, a park about to undergo a major transformation, board the RiverLink Ferry to see other examples of waterfront transformation, including Pier 68/South Wetlands Park, Washington Avenue Pier, Spruce Street Harbor Park, Cherry Street Pier, Race Street Pier, Festival Pier, Penn Treaty Park, and Graffiti Pier. The tour will end with a visit to Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, where participants will enjoy snacks and beverages while learning about how DRWC has used temporary activations to build enthusiasm and momentum for the new Penn’s Landing Park.
