Closing Reception | Water Works

Special Event

As Greater & Greener 2022 comes to a close, it’s time to wind down with friends old and new at the iconic Water Works. Situated on the east bank of the Schuylkill River between historic Boat House Row and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Fairmount Water Works opened its doors in 1815 as the sole water pumping station for the City of Philadelphia. Its combination of gracious Neoclassical architecture on the outside and then-revolutionary technology within once drew visitors from around the world—including Charles Dickens, who praised its “pleasant design.” Today, the Water Works provides rich contemporary luxury in its lavish interior spaces in one of the city’s most picturesque settings, with columned walkways, a vintage gazebo, and a breathtaking view of the Art Museum and Boathouse Row.

Transportation to this event will depart from the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown beginning at 5:45 PM. The park is also a healthy walking distance from the hotel. Return transportation departs Water Works starting at 7 PM until 8:30 PM, dropping off at the hotel. Dress code: Casual.
